On Friday 27th February, the BrightonandHoveJobs.com County Ground hosted its latest ‘Where Cricket Meets...’ event, ‘Where Cricket Meets…St David’s Day’, sponsored by Cardens Accountants.
As a Boundary Club member I find attending the ‘Where Cricket Meets...’ events an excellent opportunity to support the Club whilst strengthening relationships with other Boundary Club members and I was delighted to share a table with several business contacts.
The event was packed out with 175 attendees and Tony Cottey did his usual superb job compering. The Brighton Welsh Male Voice Choir gave a superb performance, which was followed by a delicious three-course lunch and an entertaining talk by special guest Dean Saunders, manager of Crawley Town Football Club. During the event, we took part in a game of heads and tails and a charity auction, which raised £3,050 for local children’s charity Rockinghorse.
Having seen the success of these events over the past few years, Consortium Business Solutions is delighted to be partnering with the Club to support ‘Where Cricket Meets…Ladies' Day’ in aid of the Lady Taverners on Tuesday 12th May.
Tickets for this event will be on sale from Monday 9th March at just £45 per head, for which you get a cocktail on arrival, a delicious three-course lunch with coffee and afternoon tea served later in the day. The event will coincide with the third day of the Sussex vs. Middlesex LV=CC match and the special guest is Tina Cook, the British three-day eventing rider and Olympian who won silver with her team at the 2012 Olympics. Tina will share some of her experiences in the world of eventing and as an Olympian.
We hope to see you there!

Davenport is here to help you create wealth through property investment.
We hold free, monthly Property Investment Seminars at the club, to help educate and inform anyone that’s interested in investing in property and finding out how they can get better returns from their savings or pension.
Attendees are always very complimentary of the venue, and we receive support from SCCC to promote our seminars via social media, which is greatly appreciated.
After many successful years as members of the Boundary Club (networking, beer and cricket – what’s not to love!), we decided to expand our presence at SCCC further by becoming corporate sponsors.
The 2014 season was fantastic for us as a business. Not only have we had the chance to Sponsor a T20 game (plastering the ground with our banners!) We have also sponsored some of Sussex’s’ most popular events – ‘Where Cricket Meets’.
Back in November 2013 we sponsored our first ‘Where Cricket Meets… Beaujolais Nouveau’. Guests enjoyed a sumptuous 3-course meal and plenty of wine and we auctioned a stunning all-inclusive holiday, thanks to The Resort Group, to Cape Verde, raising a remarkable £2100 for the Rockinghorse Children’s Charity.
In July we sponsored ‘Where Cricket Meets Football with Matt Le Tissier. This was another very entertaining evening – with lots of laughs – again we auctioned a holiday and raised another £1500 for our chosen charity.
These evenings are great ways for us to enjoy ourselves as a business, promote the company, treat existing clients to a great meal and network with others that attend.
We have built a fantastic relationship with the club over the last few years, with Chris Mansfield, our MD recently becoming Legacy Officer for the Sussex Cricket Community Trust.
We are constantly looking at ways that we can continue to flourish at the club, and we cannot thank the commercial team enough for their support and enthusiasm to help us grow.
We will continue to work with the Club through the winter to plan how we market ourselves next year.
The next event we are sponsoring is ‘Where Cricket Meets… Beaujolais Nouveau’ (more wine) on November 20th.
We look forward to a prosperous 2015 Season, both on and off the field.
