Workplace Bashes winners, EMC

EMC win The Workplace B'Ashes

The inaugural Workplace B’Ashes took place at the County Ground on Wednesday, August 21st, and business management and corporate finance company EMC triumphed.

The event, organised by the club, was intended to let local businesses play on the hallowed turf as well as letting them experience the fantastic on site facilities and corporate hospitality offered by the club.

Six teams went head to head at Hove playing Kwik cricket but it was EMC that walked off with the trophy, signed T20 shirt and complimentary match tickets after beating Brighton and Hove Jobs in the final. Other participants included Santander, an A and B team from Platinum Lace, Fireco and Active Sussex.

Nik Askaroff, Managing Director at EMC said: “We are delighted to have won. It was a great day and a lot of fun. I think it’s a great way to team build and fantastic to get the opportunity to play on the pitch at Hove. We will definitely be looking to defend the trophy next year!”

Tony Cottey, Business Development Manager at Sussex County Cricket Club, said: “I am sure this event could become a permanent fixture on the business calendar for many years to come. EMC did really well and I’d like to thank all the teams for taking part and making it such good fun.”

Sussex County Cricket Club works in partnership with many Sussex Businesses, and several choose to host their events at the outstanding facilities at the county ground.

Many also invest in Sussex Cricket’s wide range of community programmes, including offering opportunities to those from disadvantaged and disabled communities.
