Jason Swift joined Sussex Cricket in 2013, initially as Team Analyst, a role which he has combined with the role of Second Eleven Coach since the beginning of the 2016 season.

As a player in his native Australia, Swift played Grade Cricket in Sydney and List A cricket for Canberra Comets, before moving to the UK to cut his teeth in his coaching career, gaining the qualification of Level 4 Coach, the highest on the ECB programme.

He first gained experience in county cricket by combining a Team Analyst and Coaching role at Lancashire between 2006 and 2011. In his final year at Old Trafford, Lancashire won the County Championship for the first time in their history, however by the time they finally sealed the title on the final day of the campaign, Swift had already moved into international cricket with Bangladesh.

He was appointed Assistant Coach & Fielding Coach in 2011, spending two years with the up and coming international side, who in that time were runners-up in the Asia Cup, and beat the West Indies in a one-day series. Swift was also part of the Bangladesh set-up during the World T20 in Sri Lanka in 2012.

He moved to Hove in 2013 and in his first season as Second Eleven Coach in 2016, steered the side to a second place finish in the South Division of the Championship.
