Competitions

We offer a variety of hardball and softball competitions for primary and secondary schools across the county.

Primary schools have the option to enter any of the following – Kwik Cricket Competitions, English Schools Cricket Association (ESCA) 8 aside Hardball, Masters Boys, Masters Girls.

Secondary schools have the chance to enter any of our County Cup Competitions from Yrs 7 – 11 or our Yr 7 Street20 competitions which are linked to the Sussex School Games.

KWIK CRICKET COMPETITIONS

8 a-side, softball competitions that are run in the following age groups – Yr. 4/5 Mixed, Yr. 6 Open, Yr. 6 Girls. Each competition will be run in each of the 9 school partnerships with the 2 winners from each event qualifying for the County Finals at Blackstone. Last Summer young leaders were introduced to help with umpiring and scoring at partnership events and this will continue during 2016. This competition is FREE to enter.

ESCA U11 8 A SIDE NATIONAL COMPETITION

8 a-side, hardball competition for Year 6, format dependent on entries. 1 knockout round usually takes place which leads to a finals day at Horsham CC in June. The winners of the Sussex event go on to the regional final again at Horsham CC, which leads on to a national final at Oakham School in July.

MASTERS BOYS COMPETITION

Traditional 11 a-side, t20, hardball competition. Format depends on entries, usually a knockout format leading in to a Finals Day at Horsham CC where semi-finals and finals take place.

MASTERS GIRLS COMPETITION

8 a-side, 12 overs aside, softball competition. Format depends on entries, usually a knockout format leading in to a Finals Day at Horsham CC.

SECONDARY SCHOOL COMPETITIONS

YEAR 7 STREET 20
6 a side, softball for Yr. 7, these games are quick, fun and everyone is involved. The competitions are run in each partnership through your local School Games Organiser. They are FREE to enter and the 9 winners are invited to a finals event at the Sussex School Games run by Sussex Cricket.

SECONDARY SCHOOL COUNTY CUPS
County Cup Competitions run in the following age groups (all hardball):
U12/Year 7 – 30 over competition, format of game can be decided by schools e.g. 20/20 or 25/25
U13/Year 8 - 30 over competition, format of game can be decided by schools e.g. 20/20 or 25/25
U14/Year 9 - 40 over competition, format of game can be decided by schools e.g. 20/20 or 25/25
U14/Year 9 (STATE Schools ONLY) - 40 over competition, format of game can be decided by schools e.g. 20/20 or 25/25
U15/Year 10 Schools T20 – t20 competition, regionalised KO, leading to a t20 finals day
U15/Year 10 (STATE Schools ONLY) - 40 over competition, format of game can be decided by schools e.g. 20/20 or 25/25
