We get the excellent news of Dilshan joining Sussex for the 20/20. Two days later we learn Yasir Arafat will miss the first two months of the season.

]]>The ground will be open to all so it would be great to see as many people there as possible, all proceeds will go towards Sussex Young Cricketers and the bar will be open along with a raffle to raise some money. If anyone does live close by, wants to laugh at a few messageboarders or show their support for Sussex Young Cricketers please do come down.
There are no plans to have any famous faces on show unless Sussex staff captain, Dave Brooks sneaks in any ringers! There will be a few notorious messageboarders like Sweatysock and Xian 44 playing as well as myself if anyone wants to come and throw rotten tomatoes at me - just make sure you buy a raffle ticket or donate to Sussex Young Cricketers for us!
A big thank you to Dave Brooks and everyone at Sussex for making it possible for us to celebrate our centenary in probably the best way that we could have, it's a fantastic opportunity for us club players to get a game on the hallowed turf and we'll be doing our best to bring as many people along as possible to make it a great night that we'll remember forever and make a nice bit of money for a very worthy cause.
Hopefully we'll see a few faces on the 28th June...

Have it on good authority that Rory Hamilton Brown has been offered the captaincy at Surrey!!!!!!!
The above quote appeared in the "Brown Helmets return to training" thread. I thought it was deserving of having it's own thread.
Rory has become a big favourite in the time he has spent at Sussex as he has developed his skills and gained experience with us.
Surrey failed to look after him previously so I would be disappointed if the rumour was true and he did return to The Oval.
Surrey clearly have the biggest chequebook in county cricket and appear to want to buy their way to success. I get the impression Rory's family isn't short of a bob or two which is why I imagine Surrey would try and turn his head with the offer of captaincy, particularly after Rob Key decided to remain loyal to Kent.
IF there is any truth in the rumour it would leave a bad taste particularly if RHB is still under contract.
Rory has always come across as a decent young man and is a big part of Sussex's future. I do hope there is no mischief going on.
I hope Rory is able to reassure his fans.
