I have set up this thread for discussing the financial crisis facing county cricket. A number of counties will be reporting their annual accounts this month, so these earnings can be added to the list below. These are operating profit/loss figures and do not include monies made from land sales.

Is the tuneless singing of Jerusalem by the English supporters (I'm not going to call them barmy army because they're just a disparate band of England fans) not least because there's 2 verses.

And what's utterly pointless is all this gay clapping after they've sung it.

When I was in Napier sitting in one of the stands, the other English supporters were on this bank in another part of the ground with the ritualistic clapping after their rendition and these wallies in the stand joined in with the stupid, self-congratulatory applause

Well no it probably isn't, but all isn't rosy in the Garden with them getting tonked by the Aussies for their second 4-0 series loss in a row.

In the same way I feel that England wouldn't be bothered if 50 over cricket suddenly disappeared I reckon it's the same for the Indians with tests.

Will we ever see the day when a country could opt out of a particular format? Or where one team is being used as a purely developmental side?

Does anyone know what it is?

The reason I raised this is that in the Ranji Trophy final Vineet Saxena is 207* having faced 555 balls or 92 overs and 3 balls!!!!!! Which is an amazing effort, in fact it's more than England managed in either innings of the test.
