YouTube confirms worldwide deal for live Indian Premier League cricket

I've just spotted that the IPL have a deal with YouTube that allows free viewing of all 60 games on our computers.
With worldwide coverage available it certainly makes any sponsorship deals very attractive.

From 2014 I have doubts that being a Sussex fan will continue to be the best sporting pleasure on the planet.

Re: Indian Premier League

It's also on ITV4. live coverage of the games.

It's not everyone's cup of tea but it's cricket and I'll watch it.  big_smile

Re: Indian Premier League

is it cricket bananaman ? I thought it was all about the dancing girls !  wink

Re: Indian Premier League

well, that's not so bad, either

Re: Indian Premier League

I am very annoyed I had to re-tune my freeview box and the channel I lost, ITV4. Great, the only cricket on freeview and I can't get it sad Looks like I will have to sit in front of a computer on youtube big_smile If only I could get on it at school...

Re: Indian Premier League

Even I may watch the odd game on ITV4

Re: Indian Premier League

They are hoping to appeal to all the Indians in Britain, but it should be slightly more widespread.

Re: Indian Premier League

Modi fails to sell new franchises

Good. Some sanity at last.

Re: Indian Premier League

I know $225 million, who is mad enough to? Espeically considering the original franchises sold for ridicuolously cheaper amounts

For $225 million you could surely buySurrey, Sussex,Kent, Pompey,Southampton, the seagulls and pretty much the whole South Coast and get change.

Re: Indian Premier League

Well I wouldn't buy the whole of the south coast...

Quite right,I mean who would fancy Bognor.

Re: Indian Premier League

or Surrey wink

Re: Indian Premier League

Pay more attention in your geography lessons ss64 - Surrey is not on the south coast.  What do they teach you at school these days ?   tongue

Re: Indian Premier League

maybe surrey are trying to sign the south coast cliffs. apparently they believe a move would be beneficial to the cliffs' development.  smile

Re: Indian Premier League

I know where Surrey is, I was just saying I wouldn't like to buy tthe club

Bognor Regis if you don't mind TC.
H.R.H. George V knew a good thing when he saw it.

Re: Indian Premier League

I was only kidding ss64.

Anyway the whole show gets going tomorrow for 6 weeks - minus loads of overseas stars :

http://www.cricinfo.com/ipl2010/content … 51554.html

Adam Gilchrist isn't too concerned by the shortage of overseas players for the first game.

"Everyone team is affected by the international schedule. It is not a surprise. We are only one of the teams who are not full-strength as yet. But it is about the Indian contingent and how they perform that can often determine the results."

Well that's novel - an Indian league for the Indians.  Whatever next.

I can barely contain my excitement  wink

Re: Indian Premier League

I watched for less than half an hour as Gilchrist was soon out and when Gibbs and Symonds were out I decided did I want to watch a bunch of non descript Indians. I turned over to watch WI v a bunch of club cricketers called Zimbabwe .When Gayle was out
there wasn't much more to get excited about except the beauty of St Vincent .

Roll on real proper cricket at Hove. I realise tv has no answer to the buzz of going to see cricket live. As long as its not raining or snowing I am going to watch cricket live at Hove on 30 March .
I make no apologies you can keep your IPL I will just enjoy the beautiful game of  live county cricket until the ECB kill it !!

Re: Indian Premier League

I have watched the first two games of the IPL and thought they were both rather good big_smile You couldn't predict which way the game was going, and I make that top class entertainment.

Re: Indian Premier League

My angle on this is that I have tried to watch this in the past, but cant get very enthusiastic as I couldnt care less who won or lost

Re: Indian Premier League

It's so over the top, isn't it. The false intensity of the expressions on the players faces, and the absurdly enthusiastic commentary.

Interested in how Dilshan does, but that's about it.

Re: Indian Premier League

Strange one isn't it, I will watch any cricket on tv so it's quite handy in that respect but there is no edge of willing on one side to win or lose, if not our team then it usually may have a bearing on us.

You get the occasional good innings or exciting passage of play and I'll be looking out for Dilshan and Dwayneo but there's still something missing.

I may have to start betting on it or pick a team to follow! Who would you go for if you had to pick a side?? Or maybe the messageboard should adopt a team! Can't imagine there will be many takers for Rod's Rajasthan Royal's!  wink

Ashes winning bowler 2011 (3-9 in the Fans Ashes, Barmy Army 3 - 2 Australian Fanatics, Coogee Oval 01/01/11)

Re: Indian Premier League

Options:

Delhi (Dilshan's team)
Deccan (Dwayne's team)
Deccan (six letters, with double letter in the middle, like Sussex).
Chennai Super Kings (almost has Sussex in it, if you use one of the S's twice, and ignore lack of x).
Kings XI Punjab (there's your x)

Jeez, I think betting's the only solution.

Nice one ard. I especially enjoy the Deccan suggestion - the trouble is that on this basis we would be supporting surrey too!
