Topic: England Lions

Three questions:

1) Why  is Cook captain?

2) Why has Kirby been selected ahead of Finn?

3) Taking off my Sussex blinkers why has Panesar been selected ahead of Rashid or Wainwright which just goes to show the inconsistency of selection at international level.

Moeen and Haris deserve their selection on current form.

When was the last time the England Lions were made up of 11 players from 11 counties?

1) He can't score for toffee at county level the moment. To go into a test series with both openers unable to hit a cows arse with a banjo wouldn't be a good idea, even against Bangladesh. Strauss certainly won't be dropped. Cook is being groomed as the next England captain and games like these give him more experience of the role without the intense level of media scrutiny that comes with the full national side.

2) Finn may still be having shin problems.

3) Pass.

Harris looks a great prospect. Just hope that he isn't plagued by injuries like a lot of talented players who are blooded young seem to be.
