Re: Dwayne Smith

Steve, Have you been to Sharkey's charm school?
We all dream of team of Dwayne Smiths.

You need to get back to fantasising about Denis Bergkamp.

From 2014 I have doubts that being a Sussex fan will continue to be the best sporting pleasure on the planet.

Re: Dwayne Smith

well said AEW.

Re: Dwayne Smith

Outstanding performances by Dwayne with his 4th 5 wicket haul in 4 matches.QPCC now top the league and are in the 50 over final.

Our league is played over two days and is two innings so first innings lead and bonus points are critical.Management are delighted with Dwayne.

The 50 over Sunday league final is on wednesday (dont ask) and I shall join a bus load of QPCC fans to Guaracara park. Some ask about the standard of club cricket in T&T.We hope to have Dwayne Bravo,Darren Bravo,Keiron Pollard Dwayne Smith,Amit Jaggernauth (With Wi experience) as well as Sunil Narine and Justin Guillen (from the T&T team).Runako Morton is likely suspended because of the weed smoking bust.
In terms of International experience QPCC is not a lot short of Sussex, which aint bad for a club side.

Re: Dwayne Smith

sorry SLPS and similar but Dwayne is here to stay
not exactly Maurice Tate i admit (did you object to that thread too)
but please keep it coming TC !

i think i am a game behind but have just been reading press reports from Trinidad....

"After bowling out Merryboys for 64 on Saturday, Queen’s Park replied with 136 and then limited their opponents to 99-9 by the close of play. Merryboys, who began yesterday 27 runs ahead, lasted just two more overs to post 104, setting Queen’s Park a target of 32.

The Parkites knocked off the runs in just 8.1 overs with fast bowler Rashad Harris scoring an unbeaten 25 to go with his match figures of five for 46. The game’s standout player was former West Indies allrounder Dwayne Smith, who took six for 15 in Merryboys first innings and then topscored with 70 out of Queen’s Park total of 136."

Well done Dwayne!

Re: Dwayne Smith

Why are all those quality players playing club cricket?  I know why Smith is but his bowling figures suggest he really shouldn't be.

I can't remember what was said last time, so can Smith play T20 as an overseas any where in the world except England (still don't get why he can't in England)?

A team of Dwayne Smith's would lack a spinner and a wicketkeeper and on occasions would find itself being bowled out for 20 as he was capable of getting for a first ball duck and scoring a 20 ball fifty in equal measures.

lol  And a cloneing machine would be tricky to find too, as we're talking literally.

Re: Dwayne Smith

who would keep wicket?

Re: Dwayne Smith

I reckon a team of Dwayne Smiths would reach the final of the Sussex players competition losing to the  team of Luke Wrights in the final.
Losing semi-finalists being the team of Chris Nashs and Rana Naveds.

(Of course a team of RMJs would have coasted the tournament if they hadn't retired)

From 2014 I have doubts that being a Sussex fan will continue to be the best sporting pleasure on the planet.

Re: Dwayne Smith

I thought the plan was to get Dwane to marry Jordan and then all would be satisfied!!  big_smile

He'd have to win 'I'm a celeb' first

Re: Dwayne Smith

QPCC win the championship thanks to a 51 ball cetury from Dwayne Smith.Qpcc were missing Bravo and Bravo with Windies and Keiron Pollard with Mumbai

Re: Dwayne Smith

What's the latest on why Dwayne seems unable to be selected for any first class side ? What a total waste.

Re: Dwayne Smith

we are talking
Eastern Credit Union Premier Division here
what should i compare that with TC ... Sussex Premier????

Dwayne "blasted ten sixes and three fours in his 51-ball 101"
that must have been worth watching!

Re: Dwayne Smith

Yes its the Trinidad(sponsered by Eastern credit union) Premier division. There is little first class cricket in WI so you go from this to test cricket and each team may have a few plasyers with strong first class experience.QPCC put out a middle order wirh Darren Bravo,Dwayne Bravo ,Keiron Pollard, and Dwayne Smith ...pretty good by any standard for t-20.

The team last week excluded Bravo Bravo and Pollard but still had three players with test experience and three others who play for Trinidad.

I feel sure QPCC could take Preston Nomads or Horsham and Trinidad club cricket would be at least as strong as Sussex Premier

Ps I should add both Michael Brown and Mark Ramprakash have turned out for Preysal in the past

Its only two games so I dont think it will make him eligible for a work permit....otherwise he would help our one day team

Re: Dwayne Smith
