Topic: 2009 Coverage

I've noticed how we're now getting interviews and highlights online much faster.
It may not be as polished but I would rather have the days action and reactions available asap even if it means compromising the quality.
The music and graphics are missing but it's been on here much earlier (so far at least).

I find the short two or three minute interviews more interesting than seeing highlights.
It would be good to see as many players and staff interviewed as possible, including Mark Davis and second team players.

Being a Sussex fan continues to be the best sporting pleasure on the planet.

Re: 2009 Coverage

I have just visited SxTV to view highlights of the Lancs match and was pleased to hear a voiceover which I think improves the presentation massively.
I am not sure I agree with sweaty about when the highlights should appear. I do not always check in at the same time to view highlights and am rarely desperate to see highlights quickly. Therefore, I would prefer to have a voiceover with well produced highlights on the following day rather than rough rushed highlights going out at the end of the day's play.

Whilst it is good to have interviews, I would not be upset if a couple of days went by without one. Whereas if it was decided not to bother uploading a couple of days highlights I would be really upset.

Re: 2009 Coverage

I agree that its good to have the voiceover commentary, but also like the immediacy of the brief 'fly on the wall' style interviews (like those with Muzz and Yards during the current match, the groundsman and fitness guys pre-season).

Keep up the good work Tim & Co (and get that car-parking space sorted for the Lanky guy !!).

PS By the way graemp - is it you that's been emailing John Lees and the Lancs commentary team ?

Re: 2009 Coverage

Tim ,
A good forthright interview with Robbo, however, when the wind is blowing , as it was, would it not be better doing the interview in the dressing room or maybe at ground level to reduce the very noisey backgound.

Re: 2009 Coverage

I have an idea.

It is frustrating to log in to view highlights only to find that they have not yet been uploaded.

It is also irritating to discover that the highlights one was waiting to see had been uploaded the day before.

I accept that it will vary greatly when match highlights get uploaded.

One of the problems with the highlights is that we do not know when they will appear.

I'm sure it would be possible to send an automatic email to those who wish it, to advise them when an upload has taken place. Perhaps messageboaed technology can be used.

Re: 2009 Coverage

Graem - the Durham FPT highlights are here :
Durham v Sussex FPT
Rather than commentary the sound of leather on willow, players appealing and polite applause.

The Surrey FPT game highlights are now on both Surrey and sussex tv !

Good idea. RSS technology might be the way to go here given that feeds can be picked up with Internet Explorer 7 now.
