Don't think McCullum will be keeping wicket - he didn't for the T20 World Cup.
Anyone else going to this game, will I be able to pay on the gate or is it likely to be a sell-out?

Makes sense to me.
Royals sit on a throne.
The throne is another name for the toilet.
Pants play at the toliet bowl.

Gordon Parson's has been watching him in SA, says he has a Doosra but not sure if it's ready to be used in the middle yet.

The Lions don't play their last two games in the supersport series (the SA 3 day competion) until March. As Monty hasn't featured in their one day side of late, is he going to stay there for two months not playing any cricket?

More gushing praise from Grizzly:
Adams: Rory could captain England in future
Chris Adams believes Surrey target Rory Hamilton-Brown could be a future England captain.
Former Sussex skipper Adams, who is now Cricket Manager at The Oval, hopes the 22-year-old will become Surrey’s next captain after speaking to him last week.
But even if he stays at Hove, Adams regards the all-rounder as a potential captain of his country one day.
He said: “When I was at Sussex and we signed Rory (in 2007) one of the things we identified was his leadership potential.
“Nothing has made me change my mind. He has developed so well with Sussex but we feel it is a good time for him to come back to Surrey.
“But whatever happens I genuinely believe he could go on and captain his country one day. So much can happen in the next few years but he is a special lad with so much potential both as a player and a captain.”
Hamilton-Brown is poised to decide whether to stay at Sussex and accept their offer of a three-year contract or return to Surrey as captain.

Is the sick bucket still handy?

I think the management company that Stewart ran with Alan Smith got bought out by someone else. Not sure if they are still employed by the new company.

Re: Joe Gatting (46 replies, posted in Players)
I'm delighted that Gatting has committed his long-term future to Sussex. RHB has been offered three year contract. What about offeering extensions to Brown, Hodd and Yardy?
New three year deal for Yardy too according to today's Argus. ![]()

Now on official site with an additional quote from Yards.
Mike Yardy, Sussex CCC Captain, said: “Joe made an extraordinary start to his professional career last year and I’m hoping he’ll build upon that with a successful 2010. It’s fantastic that he has committed his future to the club.”

Another gem from Oval World
rubbishtalker - I would think it has been done as an antedote to the absolutely disgraceful behaviour of the Sussex messageboard and some members of BBC 606 posters. Their attacks range from talks about RHB being adolescent / spoilt, to slashing Adams tyres, rubbishing his time there with personal abuse and basically inciting an all out war between Sussex and Surrey. All this from the so called 'family' club.
Well, they say you can't choose your family.
I think the Hollioake statement is a genuine heartfelt one and I don't think he would have to be 'put up to it'.

Just had a look at that Oval world site - some of it's quite amusing
It makes perfect sense that he would be thinking that he may have made a mistake joining Sussex.
do you really think a cricketer wants to just be labelled as a one day player ?? How many 4 day games did sussex play him in last year ?? not very many and when they did he hit a century. Sussex are quickly giving him a name of one day specialist only.

What shirt will the team be wearing for this tournament, the sky blue one or a new one?
Will it be available to buy in the club shop beforehand?

Re: Contracted/Out of Contract (105 replies, posted in Players)
With Surrey and Hampshire buying up available players and blossoming cricketers such as Chris Nash and Luke Wright already linked to other clubs by rumour, it will be crucial for Sussex not to lose the family feel that has been as much a part of their success as it has of Durham’s. The £1.8 million salary cap has come a little too late to prevent agents and ambitious players from seeking more money at different clubs.
