Well even though it was an out of season understrength team I had hoped we would not be decisively outplayed by the university team and that Machan,Wernars etc might look more the part.The batting was very uninspiring. In fact Sussex,Canada and Netherlands are just the whipping boys here. I think WICB will have to reconsider whether these invitations serve any useful purpose for West Indies cricket.
Looks now like an early return so I will only get to see Sussex play one game in Barbados

Practice or not trhe Sussex batting has so far been quite woeful with a number of players (Yardy,Wernars,Hodd,Machan) really looking quite unable to score at any reasonable rate. you would have hoped they could have performed a little better against the University team
