From Somerset gazette:

Kieron Pollard, who has played for Somerset in the two T20 seasons, is unable to return in 2012 due to the West Indies tour to England.

Keiron said to me on saturday his availability could not be confirmed because he wanted to play for West Indies in tests if possible. He isnt selected yet.

But thats what the supporters want...give up your other income with no central contract in case you get picked.

Somerset have signed former West Indies captain Chris Gayle for this year's Friends Life t20 campaign. "I am delighted to be heading to Somerset this summer, they are a great club and hopefully I can make a key contribution to their T20 campaign this year," said Gayle.

Somerset have big ambition and this is an agreesive signing. I spoke to Keiron Pollard on saturday before he headed off to Antigua and he said he was not confirmed to Somerset yet.

Anyone see his 56 in 15 balls last night? He also fields anmd bowls better than Gayle and is all around less maintenance.

A five for in a warm up is a good start for Monty.

Suppose he gets back in as the second spinner?

Suppose he outbowls Swanny and goes back to number one?

Suppose he gets a central contract?

Good question SF - does this mean we could see an even more unlikely evntuality whereby Sussex qualify twice for the Champions League and end up playing ourselves ?

It would only be a qualifier as neither Caribbean nor UK T20 qualify you other than for the qualifying tournament. So you would have to beat yourself.

Sussex are "guests "in this tournament.Their results count but they do not qualify as Caribbean champs if they win...that will be the best placed Caribbean team.

Good grief Train driver....did Arfer Scargill teach you nuffink?

And I niver syned nuffink like that.My contract said the day I found a better job I was outahere.I only stayed 34 years cos I was dumb. But I was monthly paid. Not like poor weekly paid workers like Rooney on 240,000 pounds a week who cant even have a night out on the piss without being fined. B@st*rd capitilist employers.
