The Lara to Surrey rumour is true:
plain daft if true - he hasnt played proper cricket for ages - just cant see him being effective
It all has an air of desparation about it don't you think? They are obsessed with names and egos and whether these players will deliver let alone gel as a team is another matter entirely. It is after all a team game. Give me the sum of the parts any day.
You couldn't make it up - who next? Beefy was doing his walk in Surrey today that must qualify him for a game or two. Last year they tried Chris Lewis - you'd have thought they might have learned something from that.
Interesting that Magoo doesn't get a mention in the article. What is Mr Sheldon doing interfering with cricket issues? Surely he has n't lost faith with the current incumbents already.
After hearing the Lara news, I do hope Alec Bedsers passing wasn't bought on by an attempted come back and hard net session with Grizz.
Alec Stewart seemed to be practising extra hard with the lads down at Hove today. I wonder how long Davies has got before his place comes under pressure from the Surrey legend.

next they will exhume Grace!
The Lara to Surrey rumour is true:
In the anchor room at the IPL they seem to fly in different international cricketers every day... the cost must be horrendous.. and the sandalled beardies seem to have missed the carbon footprints. ![]()
Adam Rossington, 16 year old wicketkeeper-batsman scored 161 on his 2XI debut for Middlesex against Northants. Quite an innings! Rossington was only playing because of London and Robson being in the 1XI because of Morgan and Shah involvement in the IPL, Toor having tonsilitis, Stirling being with Ireland and Dexter getting injured.

Talk about taking your opportunities ![]()
To be fair, I would absolutely love to see Brian Lara playing again. I guess he could be available as a Kolpak
Agree about watching him play again. But if its just t20 its a big ask at his age - especially as the only t20 hes played was in the ICL where he got 31 runs in 5 innings.
Ntini finally does come to england but to kent and as an overseas for 5 weeks.
I lost track, and interest, a long time ago, but if Piyush Chawla is still to be a Slurrey player this season then they will have to wait until mid june for his arrival. Cricinfo report that although he will not be a member of the TriSeries squad, he will join up with the Indian squad for the two T20I matches against Zimbabwe on 12th and 13th june.
Likewise, Northants will definitely be without Elton Chigumbura now that he has been appointed Zim captain.
"train driver loses track" ...not good ! ![]()
Chawla definatly not going to Slurrey now, along with Lara but not a bad replacement.

Better replacement in my view, just shows what Khan's motives are for playing. Money. Why else would you go to Slurrey?

good player..how come hes not under contract for next year?
He - with Malan - was unhappy there at the end of last season. Observer (paper not poster) said on Sunday that he was getting too expensive for Middlesex - not sure what that meant. Still think they are making room for KP. Id be amazed if we got him.

Or if you ever see him play in a Warwickshire shirt! ![]()

From the BBC web site.......
Middlesex confirm Warwickshire keen on Eoin Morgan
Middlesex have confirmed that Warwickshire have contacted the club about signing Eoin Morgan.
The 23-year-old Ireland-born England batsman's contract runs out this year after five years at Lord's.
A Middlesex spokesman said: "I can confirm that we have been contacted by Warwickshire about the possibility of signing Eoin Morgan.
"I have been in contact with cricket director Angus Fraser and he is very keen that Eoin stays at the club."
The Dubliner made a century against Australia in the first one-day international at the Rose Bowl last month.
If he fails to sign a new contract with Middlesex, he is permitted to talk to any other club a month before his current deal expires at the end of the season.
