Re: Messageboard Jolly

Chaps I am dying to go on one of the jollies and I know I'm difficult to accommodate because of weekends being very difficult.

There is also a probability that I am going to have to have an operationn on my foot. I am waiting to hear when that might be and should know in the next few weeks  I'm going to have to let you guys make the decision and I will come if I possibly can.  Northants does look best though.

Couldn't call myself a stick insect but now going in the right direction!

Re: Messageboard Jolly

Great - delighted if you could make it, ump

Re: Messageboard Jolly

Good onyer ump. Don't worry mate, the Three Shires is a great hospital and just down the road if you need it. I've been there a few times too.  sad

Re: Messageboard Jolly

Good to hear you are recovering Leigh! Shame you have to put up with all of those northerners.

At least Northants is in the midlands.

Re: Messageboard Jolly

Sorry to hear that you have eliminated Derby for the 'Jolly'. I was looking forward to meeting up with you. Will put the cake on hold!

Ah well, I will just have to make do with Surrey supporters in Queens Park.  big_smile

I wish I knew what I was doing.

Re: Messageboard Jolly

Been checking the Nth'ton hotel situation, Crowies offer of the Premier is a bit out of the town centre, and there dosnt seem to be many close to the ground.
Best bet seems to be base near nightlife, eg: town centre'ish and cab to Wantage Rd as we did last year at Egbaston

Best resonable price hotels seem;
The Park Hotel. £93 per twin  per night with full English, so £140 per head for 3 nights
The Langham Hotel, £87 per twin per night with breakfast,so £130 per head for 3 nights
Aarandale Regent hotel, £64 /twin with B'fast so £96/head( bit further out of town)
If you Google, Northampton Hotels you should find these.
Will need to know numbers to make a provisional booking asap

Who is that man talking to Schlidd ?

Re: Messageboard Jolly

There are 2 Premier Inns less than 2 miles from the ground! At least according to the Northants web site.

Phone Andy at the club - he might be able to get you a better deal.

Yes Simon (Sweaty) hope to be at Northampton.

David

I am still flying a PA28

Re: Messageboard Jolly

I'm likely to be away working, so will be needing to go to a couple of other away games when I'm free. I'll be there in spirit with you though.
(I'm sure I'll be able to twist Leigh's arm if I can find a Russian budhist receptionist for him.)

From 2014 I have doubts that being a Sussex fan will continue to be the best sporting pleasure on the planet.

Re: Messageboard Jolly

I have renounced Buddhism as I have had nothing but illness and bad news since my flirtation with it. Besides all that chanting was starting to get on everybodys wick, including mine. A fine upstanding citizen should have no need for a moral guide anyway, so the shackles are off boys, looking forward to summer already tongue

Infamy infamy, they've all got it infamy

Re: Messageboard Jolly

May 18 is the 20/20 world cup in Barbados, but I am not going.I will be content with group games May6-May9.

If I am in England who knows but my schedule is not worked out yet. I will also check my map because I believe you tricky English have done something strange with the Hamptons and Northampton is nowhere near Southampton. (I am always bemused that the Duke of norfolk lives in Arundel and leeds castle is in Kent.I reckon its to confuse them Normans incase they invade again)

If it turns out I can make it I wont know till much later so I will organise my own transport and accomodation and contact Sweaty about the cut price tickets.

I will also be attending the third Caribmartlet conference in Barbados along with our Trinidad delegate between these dates.
I'm due to return to Gatwick on the morning of 19th May (day 2 of the jolly).
I'll have to see if I can get away with popping straight off to Wantage Road for 3 days rather than going home.
I'll have to consult Crowie on this one, he'll know what I should tell my long suffering wife.

From 2014 I have doubts that being a Sussex fan will continue to be the best sporting pleasure on the planet.

Re: Messageboard Jolly

Anybody else for the jolly in Barbados May 6-9?  Airfares about the same as a train to Northampton?
