Topic: Sussex Development XI v Cuckfield

With Will Adkin and James Thorpe who would have played for Cuckfield in any case at University and Wells injured will Beer, Brown or Machan be selected?

Owain Jones, Adam Davies, Devon Endersby, Jack Parsons, John Glover, Lewis Hatchett and Jordan Rollings should be selected. Who will be the other four? Matt Green, Mike Norris and Josh Poysden may come into contention. It's the batting where Sussex look short with Owain Jones the only recognised batsman. Eswar Kalidasan, Rob Willway, Harry Finch and Fynn Hudson-Prentice may come into contention if Greenfield opts for additional batting. Keepers Hugh Richards and Callum Jackson or spinners Callum Guest and Billy Meboroh-Collinson are other options for Greenfield.

Possible XI: Jones, Davies (*, +), Endersby, Finch, Willway, Kalidasan, Hudson-Prentice, Rollings, Hatchett, Parsons, Glover

Sunday 9th May at The Pavilion, South Street, Cuckfield, Haywards Heath , RH17 5AB.

Adkin played for East Grinstead last week and with him at Southampton Solent University he may well play. Are Kalidasan, Wllway, Finch and Hudson-Prentice ready to play for the Development XI? Greenfield is in the best position to judge this. If not, I would be tempted to play Matt Machan, Ben Brown and Will Beer because of the lack of second team cricket.

Seamers John Glover (4-29) and Devon Endersby (3-7), Lewis Hatchett and Jared Bernadin hustled out Cuckfield for 97 with the Academy scoring 101-4 in reply to win by 6 wickets.

It was a terrific effort especially with seamers Will Adkin, James Thorpe and Jordan Rollings and spinner Jack Parsons missing! When they come back what will be starting XI? I reckon:
