Re: Pro40 Qualification?
I am a regular in the Surrey pavillion and will be there tomorrow.
I think you might be right about not being that good!

Looks like KP might be in the surrey ranks for saturday's game, rather than being called up to England's ODI's with Pakistan (if they go ahead, that is).

Here is the news about KP. Sorry if it has already been posted
Any thoughts on the probable team for the Surrey match?
Maybe:-
1Nash
2 Prior
3 Joyce
4 Goodwin*
5 Gatting
6 Hodd+
7 Aga
8 Arafat
9 Rayner
10 Panesar
11 Kirtley
but there seem a few different options available, for example Thornely or Brown in middle order. Without Yardy I would expect 2 specialist spinners to be used.

Perhaps Brown for Hodd with either Brown or Prior keeping. Brown seems to be more of an attacking batsman, and we could use that with Luke out of the team
Just three seamers seems a bit light, especially with Nash being the only other available bowler outside of 7 to 11
Hodd for me, bexihillshark. He's reinvented himself as an attacking, inventive and highly effective one day batsman this season. He's earned his spot.
yes if middlesex fail to beat essex tomorrow :
all three games need to go our way on Saturday!!
as middlesex or yorkshire need to beat essex
northants must beat glos
and we obviously have to beat surrey
... i prefer looking at the cc div two table ... but who knows ... two titles still on!
This is bubbling up nicely as i didnt think we would be in with a shout after the welsh boyos wash out, looking forward to us taking on slurrey and kp.
Joyce
Nash
Prior (wk) (c)
Goodwin
Brown
Gatting
Adkin
Arafat
Beer
Liddle
Kirtley
Doubt it will be that! I think Liddle will play though.

Monty will be playing, he has played in all or most so far

Kirtley.
Hodd merits his place, i've seen plenty of promise from him. He isn't a 'nudger' anymore, really giving the ball a whack when the situation desires it.
Although i would prefer Prior to be captain, i suspect Murray to take up the reins.
Really need a favour from Middlesex tonight!! Poised for a good game!!
middx look well beaten quarter way through...struggling to get the ball off the square and only 70 odd off 20
Am i right in thinking that if essex win tonight we cannot qualify?
Sorry re read fixtures we still can!!
dont think Essex will find it easy to chase anything around 200
Shame they wont reach 180 ![]()
Check that, Dexter bats well last two overs, 190 to win
Essex pottering along nicely. Fingers crossed these young bowlers will perform small miracles
Or ancient ones for that matter...
Not looking good, 116-2
walks, parks
so all three games need to go our way tomorrow...

When did Sussex ever do anything the easy way! ![]()
whatever! .... we need to make sure we beat surrey
So after Middlesex's lacklustre performance at Chelmsford last night, the odds are stacked against us. We need to beat Surrey, and no doubt RHB and KP will both be keen for big scores, and then need Essex to lose at Yorkshire and Gloucestershire to lose at Northampton.
Now that wouldn't be the longest priced winning treble ever... but as all you racing fans out there know from bitter experience... one almost always lets you down.
As Wiseman said, The Unicorns have definitely bitten us on the bum (if Unicorns are biologically able to bite you on the bum), and poor batting after restricting Glamorgan to a low score, also saw the two extra points, that could have seen us through, go amiss.
The saturday scenario that would most infuriate me, would be if Essex and Gloucestershire lose, but Surrey beat us due to a mammoth score from Pietersen.
Still, as we all want to wallow in the glory of Team England, we should all be happy at having Yards and Wright removed from our side, and KP shunted into the Surrey line-up by order of the ECB. After all who want to see Sussex at a Lord final when there is a load of T20s and ODIs to play against a dispirited Pakistan side.
And of course, if the "treble" did come up, no doubt Yaz would be called up by Pakistan just in time for our semi-final.
Still at least after Gloucestershire's own goal in the CC, we now need just 8 points from two games to return to division I, and let's face it, that (and going up as champions, for good measure), was our main goal this season, so let's achieve that and not be greedy.
