Topic: Sussex v Surey pro 40 Sat 4th Sept

Well potentially a big game this one, with the added spice of KP playing for Surrey - presumably no Yardy or Wright for us or Davies for them - still think qualification is a long shot. My guess at the team

Nash
Joyce
Prior
Goodwin
Hodd
Brown
Yasir
Rayner
Liddle
Kirtley
Panesar

Might well be Kirtley's last game - a great servant to Sussex

Re: Sussex v Surey pro 40 Sat 4th Sept

Are you home now Sweaty ?  From the amount of your posts you clearly missed your cricket . Will be good to see you for this game.

Re: Sussex v Surey pro 40 Sat 4th Sept

yes got back today - my post count was mainly due to waiting for two teenage kids to get moving (or even up)

Re: Sussex v Surey pro 40 Sat 4th Sept

Matt Prior has been cleared to play. Bring it on.

"Imagine - me reprimanded for NOT appealing.  The irony!" Matt Prior after 'stumping' Sachin Tendulkar

Re: Sussex v Surey pro 40 Sat 4th Sept

Was hoping to make it down but looks like that has been scuppered. The semi's are a long shot but always good to beat Surrey nonetheless. Really wanted to be there to see JK play his last match too. I expect there will be a frenzy around KP to get his autograph if he hangs around. He will be a bit more exposed as it were at Hove than Surrey HQ.

Re: Sussex v Surey pro 40 Sat 4th Sept

Wonder if he will get two security guards to walk him down the steps as he did last night........may I suggest Brenda and Brian the Gateman.

I wouldn't have thought there would be too much frenzy for autographs, more likely Xian44 hurling abuse at him smile

Who is that man talking to Schlidd ?

Re: Sussex v Surey pro 40 Sat 4th Sept

Any cooks on the messageboard - perhaps they could prepare some FIGJAM for him? tongue

Sadly I will be winging my way to Canada - good to see Worcester stuffing Surrey yesterday, would be nice to give them the same sort of treatment....

Its a legends last game fur Sussex so I will be on my best behaviour on saturday mate. I value my membership at the home of cricket too much to risk it abusing that has-been numpty. Remember I was slating him when everyone else thought he was God. All that is out of my system now and I will be more interested to see if there is still enough room between his bat and pad for Boycotts car! If there is I would loooov it for JK to whip one through it and castle him. I suggest if you want that kind of fun wait for Slidofski to get back from Crayford dogs, then load the gun for him and Mouth to fire. Sure they'll oblige...

Re: Sussex v Surey pro 40 Sat 4th Sept

first 3 balls went for 4 now kirtley gets him!! Come on lads 13-1 of 1!! Time to get kp!!

Re: Sussex v Surey pro 40 Sat 4th Sept

176/6 Looking very balanced at the moment. Get KP out in the next two or three overs and I'd say we were well ahead.

Re: Sussex v Surey pro 40 Sat 4th Sept

240 all out. JK was getting a battering by KP at the end but bowled him with what could be his last wicket for Sussex. Can't be too unhappy with that total. Sy are probably 30-40 runs down from they may have expected.

Gloucs and Essex going quite well in their matches so could be a frustrating day in that respect.

Re: Sussex v Surey pro 40 Sat 4th Sept

A score that will hopefully beated. Not much from Surrey other than KP's contribution. if we did lose out becasue of his innings it would be very frustrating.

At least RHB failed.

Yep. If someone in the top order gets a century, not too unhappy is the least I would be with 240. Delighted is probably closer to the mark.

Re: Sussex v Surey pro 40 Sat 4th Sept

163-5. 28th over. In the balance. Goodwin still there but not alot of batting to come. Haven't really looked in trouble with this run chase as far as keeping up with the r/r but losing cheap wickets may be our undoing.

Re: Sussex v Surey pro 40 Sat 4th Sept

Goodwin gone. 188-6. 31st over. Have to make Sy favs now. Kirts to hit the winning run perhaps! All academic as far as qualification goes but still be good to do the double over Surrey.

Re: Sussex v Surey pro 40 Sat 4th Sept

26 off 3 overs with 3 wickets left. Not looking good.   sad

No. All gone a bit wayward. 22 from 2 overs required. Not our finest hour.

Re: Sussex v Surey pro 40 Sat 4th Sept

15 from 6 balls to win. JK on strike.
