Sussex County Cricket Club are celebrating their 175th anniversary in 2014 and with some very special events in the pipeline to mark the occasion, we’re delighted to announce that Mayo Wynne Baxter have pledged their support for our annual Hove Festival of Cricket.

The ‘Mayo Wynne Baxter Festival of Cricket at Hove’ will take place between Sunday 1st June and Friday 6th June. The Festival will see Sussex host Nottinghamshire in the LV=County Championship over four days before concluding with the NatWest T20 Blast match against Gloucestershire on the Friday.

Sunday 1st June has been confirmed as the landmark day for the 175th anniversary celebrations, and it will also signal the start of our annual Real Ale Festival which takes place throughout the week with 25 different ales, including a number from Sussex-based brewers.

Entrance to the ground for the opening day of the match against Nottinghamshire will cost only £1.75 for all paying spectators. There will also be a commemorative programme available, a vintage car display, a stoolball demonstration during the luncheon interval, and a cutting of the birthday cake ceremony on the outfield.

Sussex’s Chief Executive Zac Toumazi commented, “This is a very special moment in the club’s history and we are really looking forward to the events that are planned to mark it. We are especially grateful to the organising committee, under the Chairmanship of Board Member Bob Warren, and all supporters are encouraged to get involved and join us.”

“We’re very fortunate to have the support of a company like Mayo Wynne Baxter. The relationship between Club and company is one that has grown over the past few years and we’re excited about the start of our Festival at Hove with their support.”

Mayo Wynne Baxter have been wonderful supporters of Sussex over the past few years and this festival sponsorship will be in addition to their Executive Suite naming rights at Hove.

Jason Edge, Marketing Director at Mayo Wynne Baxter said, “The cricket club is such an important part of the county and as a long established Sussex firm too we are proud to put our name to these celebrations. The Mayo Wynne Baxter Festival of Cricket is going to have something for everyone and we look forward to welcoming you at Hove.”
