Sussex’s Second Eleven finished their season with a huge victory over Ireland A at the Sutton Winson Academy Ground this week in a three-day friendly match.
Having set their visitors a mammoth target of 546 runs to win the match, the Irish were bowled for 261 as Academy prospect Matt Hobden (pictured) took three wickets whilst there were also two wickets apiece for Will Adkin, Will Beer and Michael Rippon.
Sussex had previously declared in their second innings on 271 for 4 with Nitesh Patel making an unbeaten century and both Beer and Joe Gatting hitting half-centuries.
Sussex 426 for 7 declared and 271 for 4 declared, Ireland A 151 all out and 261 all out. Sussex win by 285 runs
