2ND XI: Jackson ton saves Sussex27-Jul-2012
A century from Callum Jackson ensured Sussex’s Second Eleven drew with Hampshire on the final day of their three-day friendly at Preston Nomads CC yesterday.
The hosts resumed 123 behind their neighbours yesterday morning and managed to thwart any hopes of a Hampshire victory having reached 316 for 6, 188 ahead , when they declared with 50 minutes remaining in the day.
Jackson hit 100 not out whilst Andrew Hodd also starred amongst the rearguard action as he made an unbeaten 70. Owain Jones (32) and Lewis Hatchett (41) were both in the runs too. Will Adkin begun the day on 33 not out but could only add six more to his score.
Sussex 146 and 316 for 6, Hampshire 344.
