2ND XI: Late start at Hove on Day One

Sussex’s Second Eleven narrowly avoided another full washout at The PROBIZ County Ground, Hove yesterday on Day One of their Second Eleven Championship match with Gloucestershire.

With persistent rain throughout the day at Hove no play was possible until 5.30pm when the clean-up operation had finally been successful. Gloucestershire won the toss and elected to field and around two hours play was possible before the close and Sussex did not lose a wicket.

The opening pair of Luke Wells (70) and Will Adkin (40) put on 115 without loss to set the hosts up nicely for the re-start this morning. Day Two begins at Hove at 11.00am and entrance is of course FREE
