2ND XI: No play on Isle of Wight

Sussex’s Second Eleven Trophy match against the MCC Young Cricketers on the Isle of Wight was abandoned yesterday due to the ground in Newport being unfit after recent rain.
The ground made for such a soggy scene that the Second Eleven Championship match, which was due to begin this morning in Newport, has already been abandoned.
The Second Eleven are back in action next Wednesday 18th July when they take on England Under-17’s in a friendly match at Loughborough (11.00am).
