2ND XI: Only one session possible today at Halstead07-Jun-2012
Sussex’s Second Eleven were also frustrated by the rain today as only one session was possible during Day Two of their Second Eleven Championship match against Essex at Halstead CC.
The visitors moved nine runs on from their overnight total of 272 for 8 to 281 all out as Malcolm Johnson, batting at 8, perished two runs short of his half-century.
Essex reached 79 for 1 before the heavens opened and no further play was possible during the day. Skipper Jaik Mickleburgh was the man to go for a duck, bowled by Lewis Hatchett but play was abandoned for the day at around 3.15pm.
Play will hopefully begin tomorrow again at 11.00am and you can follow the updates on www.twitter.com/SussexSeconds
