2ND XI: Sussex 123 runs behind at Nomads


Sussex’s Second Eleven were made to toil in the heat yesterday on Day Two of their three-day friendly with Hampshire at Preston Nomads, as they ended the day 123 runs behind their counterparts.

After beginning the day 14 runs behind Sussex, Hampshire went on to make 344 all out as Michael Roberts starred for them with the bat, hitting an impressive 144. Naveed Arif Gondal (pictured) was the pick of the bowlers for Sussex, taking 4 for 58 whilst there was also two wickets for academy prospect Matthew Hobden.

Sussex moved onto 75 for 1 before the close as they remain 123 runs behind Hampshire going into Day Three of the game. Andy Hodd (34) and Will Adkin (33) are currently at the crease for the hosts.

The final day begins at this morning at 11.00am at Preston Nomads CC and entrance is of course FREE
