2ND XI: Trophy washout at Hove03-Jul-2012
There were only just over 22 overs possible yesterday at The PROBIZ County Ground, as Sussex’s 2nd XI Trophy Match with Gloucestershire was abandoned as a draw.
The visitors had reached 113 for 4 in a match already reduced to 37 overs per side when the rain descended on Hove and the umpires had no option but to abandon play for the day.
James Anyon (pictured) took the wicket of Gloucestershire skipper Will Gidman for only 6 whilst youngster Owain Jones went on to claim the wicket of Roderick for 41.
The Second Eleven Championship match between sides is set to begin at Hove this morning but rain has currently delayed the 11.00am start.
The umpires are hoping to inspect shortly and entrance is FREE for anyone who would like to attend should play get underway.
