There was success for Sussex in the ECB's Business of Cricket Awards on Thursday evening at the Hilton Metropole in London.

Sussex were winners of the Marketing and Communications Award for Category B & C Grounds; the first time that Sussex had picked up a BOCA since the inception of the event in 2010.

The award is in recognition of four NatWest T20 Blast sell outs, a women's international sell-out, and the highest filled ground (by percentage of ground filled) across the country, through the use of innovative methods, namely 'The Believe in the Dream' campaign (watch HERE).

The judging panel, which consisted of industry experts from a variety of sports, also made awards in different categories to Nottinghamshire, Warwickshire, Lancashire, Kent and Glamorgan, and Surrey's George Foster. The award was collected by Sussex's Marketing and Communications team, Adam Matthews and Tom Rose.

Sussex's Marketing Supervisor Tom Rose said, "Sussex are proud and delighted to accept this award. It is the culmination of an improved digital campaign, engaging our target audience, and delivering an increased focus on our customer experience.

"Our thanks go to everyone involved in the winning of this award, as this has been a real team effort. We should also praise Pleece & Co, our digital marketing partners, as without their involvement this would not have been possible."

ECB's Chief Executive Officer, Tom Harrison, said, "The BOCA awards are all about recognising and rewarding the innovative ways in which together we bring cricket to a wider audience, and the breadth and quality of this year’s entries was truly impressive.

“2015 was a record-breaking year for county cricket with attendances rising in all three county competitions; an important milestone which owes much to the hard work and dedication of all those working behind the scenes across our domestic game.

“As always, our judging panel were given the unenviable task of picking the winners from an outstanding pool of nominees. We thank them for their efforts and warmly congratulate all our winners on their achievements.”
