CHAIRMAN: Jim May appointed Deputy Lieutenant18-Dec-2012
Sussex's Chairman Jim May has today been announced as one of six new Deputy Lieutenants have been appointed by the Lord Lieutenant for the County of East Sussex.
They will assist the Lord Lieutenant, Peter Field, in the execution of his duties in the County on behalf of HM The Queen.
Mr Field said “These are outstanding individuals who have been playing, and continue to play a significant role supporting the local community. I am delighted they have agreed to accept the appointment.”
Jim is also the chairman of Shoreham Port Authority as well as being the current chairman at SCCC. Living in Brighton he is keenly interested in giving young people opportunities in education and sport.
He is a governor and chair of the Business Committee at the Brighton Aldridge Community Academy as well as a former non executive director of NHS Brighton & Hove.
Jim said of his appointment, "I am very proud of the work that Sussex Cricket carries out to benefit men and women of all ages and abilities in diverse communities throughout the County."
