CITY COLLEGE: Sussex join forces for Student Partnership

Sussex County Cricket Club and City College Brighton and Hove have joined forces to launch the ‘Sussex Student Partnership’, an exciting new initiative aimed at providing transformative and meaningful opportunities for local young people to raise and shape their aspirations.

Launched this week at The County Ground, Hove, the partnership is based on a shared commitment to providing young people with new opportunities to develop work-based skills, real experience and confidence in the workplace. This will include Traineeships (pre-apprenticeship training), work experience, placements and collaborative Digital Media/Photography projects.

“We’re absolutely thrilled with this partnership as it will really benefit local young people”, said Lynn Thackway, Principal of City College. “The team at Sussex County Cricket Club are so committed and supportive of our learners and we know that this partnership will go from strength to strength.”

“I’m delighted that City College and Sussex County Cricket Club are partnering on such an important and exciting initiative”, said Zac Toumazi, Chief Executive of Sussex Cricket. “The Sussex Student Partnership will pave the way to provide support and meaningful opportunities for local people to flourish and progress. The relationship will not only benefit the students but will also benefit the Club in its pursuit of excellent client service. We look forward to working with City College, welcoming the students to The County Ground and doing all we can to make our partnership the success it deserves to be.”
