CLIFF: Military Wives Choirs to support Cliff Richard at Hove21-Feb-2013
The Military Wives Choirs, made up of the wives, girlfriends, mothers and daughters of our British forces, will be supporting none other than Sir Cliff Richard O.B.E at his Still Reelin’ and A-Rockin’ summer show, when he appears at The BrightonandHoveJobs.com County Ground, Hove on Saturday 15th June 2013.
The group first found fame on the hit BBC series The Choir, selling over 550,000 copies of the hit single Wherever You Are in a week. Today, there are over eighty choirs located at British military bases in the UK, Germany, Cyprus and the Falkland Islands. And now, the Military Wives Choirs are set to make this fast-selling tour a once-in-a-lifetime event for fans all over the country. Several of the Choirs from across the country-wide network will perform on the seven dates, starting in Yorkshire and ending in Devon and they will be singing many of their best loved number one selling hits.
Jo M, whose husband is currently serving in Afghanistan, says: "We can’t wait to be part of the show and have all been so excited since we were asked to support Cliff - he’s a true British icon who clearly loves his fans. We’re so excited to be working with such a legend!”
Cliff Richard is Britain’s most successful artist with over 250 million record sales worldwide and over 120 top 40 hits. He’s a star of the screen with films like The Young Ones and Summer Holiday. He’s gained millions of loyal fans, and has a place in the UK Music Hall of Fame for his outstanding contribution to British music.
Even with these impressive accolades, Sir Cliff is tremendously excited to be performing alongside such a worthy cause. “These women make a silent sacrifice every single day they’re away from their loved ones who are serving their country. I’m so honoured to be welcoming them on the Still Reelin’ and A-Rockin’ series of concerts this year.”
Tickets are available to purchase via Seetickets.com, and a charitable donation made by the promoter will go to the Military Wives Choirs Foundation which brings women in the military community closer together through singing.
Hospitality options for the event are available directly from Sussex County Cricket Club and for more information please call 0844 264 0201 to speak to a member of the SCCC Commercial Team.
