CLUB SHOP: Book Signing on Saturday06-Dec-2012
Another fantastic Christmas present is available in the Club Shop at The PROBIZ County Ground, Hove this month with a new book bringing to life eleven of the most memorable matches in the County's long history.
In Match of my Life, Bruce Talbot recalls some of the best games in the history of the oldest of the first-class counties with those who took part. Mushtaq Ahmed, Chris Adams, Murray Goodwin, Jason Lewry and James Kirtley are among those who look back on their contributions to the great triumphs of the last decade, an era that has brought Sussex unprecedented success.
As well as the inside story of three County Championship victories, the book looks at some memorable Lord’s finals – won and lost - and remembers matches from Sussex’s sepia-tinted past including the game when George Cox took 17 wickets at the age of 52, Ranjitsinhji’s two hundreds in the same day and Sussex’s famous win in the first Lord’s one-day final nearly 50 years ago.
By speaking to the key personnel and examining previously unseen archive material, Match of My Life is a unique and absorbing look at some of the great moments in the rich history of the oldest first-class County Club.
This is Bruce Talbot’s third book about Sussex. He collaborated with Paul Weaver on The Longest Journey (2004) and Flight of the Martlets (2008) and has been reporting on the County’s fortunes home and away for 25 years.
It is published by Sussex-based Pitch Publishing and is available in the Club Shop NOW, priced at £16.99. It is available for online order by clicking HERE
