COMMUNITY: County Ground Cuppa returns in March!

Matt Machan and Will Beer enjoy a cuppa with local residents last month

On Thursday 29th January we were delighted to hold our first ever County Ground Cuppa, which opened up The County Ground for members and local people to come and join us for a cup of coffee and a chat.

The initiative is a great use of the resources we have here at the club and was run in partnership with Friends of the Elderly & the Be a Friend campaign to reach out to local people who may feel a bit lonely or isolated. By offering them the chance to pop into the ground for a cup of tea and a chat, it could help to combat the loneliness someone might be feeling and maybe even build up connections with other local people.

We were delighted to be joined by a number of our professional cricket players and staff who came along to support the event. First team players Will Beer, Steve Magoffin, Jimmy Anyon, Tymal Mills and Matt Machan joined us for a cup of tea and a chat, as they caught up with a number of members and non-members who popped in to see what the event was all about.

We are really pleased to confirm that this will become a monthly event and we will be looking to offer an activity at each session. The next dates are below and there will be a charge of just £1.50 to including drinks & biscuits and the activity!

Monday 2nd March 1pm – 3pm Coffee, Tea and Bingo

Tuesday 7th April 10.30am – 12.30am Coffee, Tea and Beetle Drive (this is also on our first friendly match against Surrey and you are welcome to stay afterwards to watch the match)

If you’d like to come down to these events, please just pop down to the Focus Group Boundary Rooms, at The County Ground, Eaton Road, Hove, BN3 3AN
