CRIQ HQ: Sussex CCC announce partnership with Cric HQ04-May-2012
Sussex County Cricket Club and the Sussex Cricket Board have announced a partnership with CricHQ, providers of a pioneering scoring App with the aim to introduce CricHQ’s technology into the Sussex Cricket community.
As part of the unique Sussex relationship with CricHQ, Glenn Pocknell, the company’s High Performance Manager will be based at The PROBIZ County Ground, Hove, for the summer to assist the Sussex community with education and will be available to all Affiliated Clubs for training throughout the summer.
And the roll out will be led by the Under 15, Under 16 and Under 17 County Age Group squads, with all games being run through the App, which will give live ball-by-ball coverage on the games back to the Sussex Cricket website.
CricHQ are formally launching this partnership by becoming Match Sponsor for the Sussex game against the West Indies as they open their Tour at The PROBIZ from Saturday 5th to Monday 7th May. During the lunch and tea breaks on Monday 7th, CricHQ will be running a presentation on their products in the BrightonandHoveJobs.com Boundary Rooms, with some light refreshments being provided. In addition, the game will be scored live using the Natwest CricHQ app and can be followed on the Sussex website.
Rob Lynch, CricHQ’s Europe Manager said, “We are delighted with our partnership with Sussex Cricket. Our aim is to work with the Sussex cricket community to showcase the benefits of using our products and what is possible by adopting today’s technology.”
Dave Brooks, Chief Executive of Sussex Cricket, added “I first saw a prototype 18 months ago and even as a non-App user, I thought it was fantastic! Anyone can learn to score using CricHQ in 20 minutes and the opportunity to develop its use at all levels of cricket within Sussex is really exciting. Whether it is a local Club Under 11’s, or our elite County Junior squads, products like this make life much easier and with the added bonus of coaching aids and the ball by ball update to websites, it makes life much more fun too.”
