ENGLAND: Finch included in England Under 19s World Cup Squad13-Jan-2014
Sussex all-rounder Harry Finch was today included in the 15-man England Under-19's squad for the ICC U19 Cricket World Cup in the UAE next month, which was announced by the ECB this morning.
18 year-old Finch made both his First-Class and List A debuts for Sussex in 2013 and has most recently been playing for the England Under-19's in the triangular series in the UAE, with both the hosts and Pakistan.
England will begin with a game against hosts UAE at the Zayed Cricket Stadium on 14th February, before playing Sri Lanka and New Zealand in the other group stage matches in Dubai. If England progress further they could then go on to face one of fifteen other countries in the latter stages of the tournament.
EDP Head Selector David Graveney said: “This squad contains an exciting mix of young talent which we look forward to seeing perform on the world stage against top class opposition. It will be an excellent experience for these young players to develop their games in a world class environment, competing at the highest level in this prestigious tournament.”
