FINALS DAY: Sussex Sharks name squad for Friends Life t20 Finals Day

The Sussex Sharks return to FL t20 Finals Day for the first time since they won the competition in 2009 and now make their 3rd finals day appearance.  Finals day cannot come quick enough with the team flying high in the competition and posting 200+ scores in 4 of the group and quarter final stages.  Strong support from the Sussex faithful is expected at The SWALEC Stadium with an army of support making their way down the M4 early on Saturday for what is, for many, the highlight of the domestic season.

Sussex Sharks have announced a 16-man squad for the Friends Life t20 Finals Day in which they take on Yorkshire Carnegie, who are making their finals day debut, in the first of the semi-finals at The SWALEC stadium on Saturday with an 11:00am start.
The Sharks reached Finals Day by beating Gloucestershire Gladiators by 39 runs in front of a packed house here at The PROBIZ, with the highlight being Scott Styris’s stunning unbeaten 100 from 37 balls, described by many as the most brutal T20 century seen for many a year.

The Sharks are also boosted by the return of wicketkeeper-batsman Matt Prior from recent England duty, who was also voted as England’s Man-of-the-series and by the inclusion of Luke Wright who was selected, by England, in the final squad for the T20 World Cup taking place in Sri Lanka during September.
The Sussex squad is as follows:
Amjad Khan
WAT Beer
BC Brown
JS Gatting
MW Goodwin
Naveed Arif Gondal
CJ Liddle
MW Machan
SJ Magoffin
CD Nash
MS Panesar
MJ Prior
MJ Rippon
SB Styris
LJ Wright
MH Yardy (capt)
