FOOTBALL: Sussex and Hampshire to go head-to-head at Littlehampton

Sussex and Hampshire’s cricketers are swapping googlies for goals as they take each other on in a 90 minute, 11-a-side football match at Littlehampton Town FC this Wednesday 9th October (7.45pm kick-off).

With the County season having recently finished, players from both Clubs will be winding down for the winter with a friendly to raise money for both the venue and Littlehampton Cricket Club.

Sussex’s team will be made up of several first-team players and backroom staff, including Chris Nash, Ben Brown and Matt Machan. The Hampshire side has some footballing pedigree with former QPR trialist James Vince, Wessex Premier league players Liam Dawson, Hamza Riazuddin and Chris Wood and Southampton FC legend Jason Dodd amongst their ranks.

Sussex's Cricket Development Administrator Gary Wallis-Tayler said, "The game is in aid of not only strengthening the bond between the two local counties, but we'll be raising monies for local sport in the area and the community. It is great that we are able to help out in methods other than cricket."

Entrance is only £2 for Adults and £1 for Juniors and the address of the venue is:

The Sportsfield
St Flora's Road
West Sussex
BN17 6BD

Sussex, as last year, are also hoping to line-up fixtures against teams from Brighton & Hove Albion, Crawley Town and Mile Oak FC in the coming weeks.
