Full steam ahead for Sussex Cricket Board and Southern Railway!16-May-2012
Southern Railway, Sussex Cricket Community Partners, offered their support to an exciting new venture in two Academy schools in Brighton and Hove that was launched last week.
The venture is a unique partnership between Brighton Aldridge Community Academy (BACA), its sister school Portslade Aldridge Community Academy (PACA), and the Sussex Cricket Board (SCB). As well as engaging many young people in cricket, It is hoped that the Aldridge Cricket Academy will eventually produce players competing at the highest levels. Wednesday 9th May was the official launch at The PROBIZ County Ground, Hove, but transport was identified as a challenge with 40 youngsters needing to get to the ground.
Southern Railway were keen to get on board with this exciting venture and offered the children and teachers from BACA complimentary train travel from Falmer to Hove. To keep the memorable occasion on track, Sid the Shark also boarded the train at Falmer!
