Former Zimbabwean cricketer Henry Olonga will be appearing locally in
Worthing next month, speaking about his life and also performing as a
Olonga was Zimbabwe’s first ever black cricketer and the youngest ever player to represent his country at international level. A fast bowler, he made his Test debut for Zimbabwe aged 18 years against Pakistan in 1995.
Following his black armband protest in 2003 he settled in England where he commentated for Channel 4 and the BBC’s Test Match Special, and played for the Lashings World XI cricket team.
Since then he has embarked on careers in art, cinematography, public speaking and music; recording his first album, Aurelia in 2006.
The event takes place at the Worthing Tabernacle Church, 64 Chapel Road, Worthing on Friday 6th June at 7.30pm.
