PREVIEW: Sharks aiming to shoot down Spitfires

Sussex Sharks travel to the Spitfire Ground in Canterbury this evening as they take on Kent Spitfires for the first time in this season’s Friends Life t20 South Group (7.00pm start).

The Sharks face their final two matches in the Twenty20 qualifying campaign either side of the three-day Australia game this week with Kent the opponents in both matches.

Chris Nash, who has skippered Sussex’s campaign in the shortest format, is currently the team’s leading run-scorer, whilst Michael Yardy has taken the most wickets for the Sharks.

Callum Jackson, who marked his debut behind the stumps on Sunday with three stumpings against Essex Eagles, will keep wicket again in the absence of Ben Brown who broke a finger in last week’s LV=County Championship match with Middlesex.

The Sussex squad is as follows:

WAT Beer
JS Gatting
RJ Hamilton-Brown
LJ Hatchett
CF Jackson (wkt)
EC Joyce (pictured in Sunday's match with Essex at Hove)
CJ Liddle
MW Machan
CD Nash
MJ Rippon
DR Smith
SB Styris
MH Yardy
