PREVIEW: Sharks back in Royal London One-Day Cup action

George Bailey struck a century in Sussex's Royal London One-Day Cup clash with Middlesex a fortnight ago

Sussex Sharks play their penultimate Group B game in the Royal London One-Day Cup tomorrow when they take on Warwickshire Bears at Rugby School (10.30am start).

The Sharks are still on the hunt for their first win in the tournament this term and face the Bears before heading back to Hove for Wednesday’s floodlit clash with Essex Eagles.

Sussex’s last outing in the competition against Glamorgan at Swansea was almost completely washed out bar a few early overs, but the previous match saw Australian overseas star George Bailey hit a stunning century against Middlesex at Hove.

All-rounder Chris Jordan returned to the Sussex side for last week’s NatWest T20 Blast quarter-final with Northamptonshire after recovering from a side strain and is included in the squad for tomorrow’s match.

Jimmy Anyon, Lewis Hatchett and Ajmal Shahzad remain sidelined through injury so Matt Hobden boosts the seam bowling options, as does 18 year-old left-arm Academy prospect George Garton, who has recently been involved with the England Under-19 setup.

Batsman Phil Salt, also of the Academy, is named in the squad and the two youngsters would make their List A debuts should they be selected.

The Sussex squad is as follows:

GJ Bailey
WAT Beer
C Cachopa (wk)
HZ Finch
GHS Garton
ME Hobden
CJ Jordan
EC Joyce (c)
CJ Liddle
MW Machan
PD Salt
LWP Wells
LJ Wright
