PREVIEW: Sharks head to Bristol for latest NatWest T20 Blast clash04-Jul-2014
Sussex Sharks are aiming to keep their winning streak going in the NatWest T20 Blast when they travel to Bristol to take on Gloucestershire this evening (5.30pm start).
The Sharks have lifted themselves back into contention for a quarter-final appearance in the South Group table after victories over Kent Spitfires and Middlesex Panthers in their last two outings.
The comfortable win against Middlesex at Hove last Friday was inspired by Chris Nash, skippering in the absence of Ed Joyce, as he led from the front with an unbeaten 74, after Will Beer and Lewis Hatchett had both taken three wickets apiece.
Captain Joyce is unavailable due to a hamstring problem so Nash will continue to captain the side. Rory Hamilton-Brown misses out due to a wrist injury and is replaced by Luke Wells in the squad, and Jon Lewis returns in place of the injured Jimmy Anyon.
Chris Jordan and Matt Prior are unavailable due to their selection for England’s Test series with India. Michael Yardy remains a long-term absentee as he recovers from a bicep operation.
Sussex have a good record against Gloucestershire in this format, having beaten them on both of their previous away meetings and four of the six meetings overall.
The Sussex squad is as follows:
BC Brown (wkt)
CD Nash (capt)
