PREVIEW: Sharks head to Hampshire for latest Blast encounter18-Jul-2014
Sussex Sharks are hoping to continue their quest of sneaking into a NatWest T20 Blast quarter-final berth this evening, when they travel to the Ageas Bowl to take on Hampshire (7.00pm start).
The Sharks gave themselves a fighting chance of qualifying from the South Group as they saw off Glamorgan in front of the television cameras at Hove on Tuesday evening.
Will Beer continued his good form in this format, taking 3 for 14 before Luke Wright hit 66 from only 39 deliveries as the Sharks chased down the total of 151. Sussex will need to be victorious once again this evening to keep themselves in the running for a place in the last eight.
Team news sees Steve Magoffin remain in the squad as Yasir Arafat has a groin injury. Jimmy Anyon, Rory Hamilton-Brown, Ed Joyce and Mike Yardy are all ruled out, and Chris Jordan is rested at the request of England. Matt Prior is involved in the Test Match at Lord’s but Jon Lewis comes back into the squad.
The Sussex squad is as follows:
BC Brown (wkt)
CD Nash (capt)
