PREVIEW: Sharks open Friends Life t20 campaign at home to Surrey

Sussex Sharks open their Friends Life t20 campaign this evening against neighbours Surrey at The County Ground, Hove (7.10pm start).

The Sharks reached Finals Day last season and will be eager to get off to a flying start tonight in the South Group infront of a near sell-out crowd at Hove.

They can welcome back two of their former overseas stars to the squad in the shape of Dwayne Smith, who led Sussex to victory in the 2009 final at Edgbaston, and Scott Styris (pictured), who smashed a magical 37-ball century in the quarter-final win over Gloucestershire last season.

Luke Wright is available after playing for England this week in their T20 series with New Zealand, but Matt Prior is missing as he is now with the England squad ahead of The Ashes series. Chris Jordan and Lewis Hatchett could make their Sussex T20 debuts if selected. Surrey can include Australian legend Ricky Ponting amongst their squad.

The Sussex squad is as follows:

WAT Beer
BC Brown (wkt)
RJ Hamilton-Brown
LJ Hatchett
CJ Jordan
EC Joyce
CJ Liddle
MW Machan
CD Nash
DR Smith
SB Styris
LJ Wright
MH Yardy
