PREVIEW: Sharks open one-day season at Hove04-May-2013
Sussex Sharks begin their Yorkshire Bank 40 campaign tomorrow when they take on Worcestershire Royals in front of a sell-out crowd at The BrightonandHoveJobs.com County Ground, Hove (1.45pm start).
The Sharks reached the semi-final of the tournament last season and will be hoping to progress to the latter stages once again, with the prize of a Lord's final in sight.
Joe Gatting, Chris Liddle (pictured) and Michael Rippon are all added to the squad for tomorrow. Matt Prior is once again available for the Sharks but Luke Wright is away in the IPL.
The match will be played in front of a full house at Hove, with thousands of free tickets given away as a result of the partnership with LED Sport Europe. It promises to be a fantastic atmosphere and a fitting way for Sussex to get their one-day cricket underway for the new season.
Gates are open at 11.45am for members, who only need their usual membership cards to gain entry, and 12.15pm for ticket-holders. The Greene King Beer Festival is in full flow and continues at the Cromwell Road End of the ground.
The Sussex squad is as follows:
