PREVIEW: Sharks prepare for visit of Gloucestershire to Hove

06-Jun-2014

Sussex Sharks take on Gloucestershire this evening in the NatWest T20 Blast as the Mayo Wynne Baxter Festival of Cricket at Hove draws to a close (7.00pm start).

The Sharks have four points from their four games so far in the South Group and return to The BrightonandHoveJobs.com County Ground tonight aiming to pile the pressure on leaders Hampshire at the summit. Sussex were edged out in a thrilling affair at Glamorgan last Friday in which the hosts hit the winning runs off the final ball of the game.

Ashar Zaidi is unavailable due to his wife giving birth on Wednesday. Chris Jordan and Matt Prior have both been selected in the England squad for the Test Series and are not available for this match, whilst Michael Yardy is missing due to a torn bicep.

Luke Wright (pictured) needs 67 runs to become the second English player after Owais Shah to score 4,000 runs in all T20 cricket, whilst Yasir Arafat remains the highest wicket-taker in domestic T20 history, three ahead of Surrey’s Azhar Mahmood.

Tickets are available on the gate this evening and for more information please click HERE or call 0844 264 0206.

The Sussex squad is as follows:

WAT Beer
BC Brown (wkt)
RJ Hamilton-Brown
LJ Hatchett
EC Joyce (capt)
J Lewis
