PREVIEW: Sussex head to Kent on back of comfortable Durham victory

Sussex are aiming for back-to-back Specsavers County Championship victories when they travel over the county border to face neighbours Kent at Tunbridge Wells tomorrow (11.00am start).

After comfortably wrapping up victory over Durham yesterday by an innings and 177 runs at The 1st Central County Ground, Sussex will look to capitalise on a fine week in which they claimed maximum points by defeating the north-east county.

Luke Wells hit a stunning 258 on returning from injury, his career-best, whilst Stiaan van Zyl scored his maiden Sussex century, as the hosts racked up 668, their fifth-highest total of all time in first-class cricket.

Jofra Archer claimed eight wickets in the match, as well as hitting 70 from 68 deliveries, whilst Vernon Philander and Chris Jordan returned to the line-up with six and three wickets respectively.

Steve Magoffin could return to the side tomorrow after missing the Durham win as he continues to recover from a knee injury, and bowled for the Second Eleven this week to put himself in the frame. He will face a fitness test before tomorrow’s match.

Laurie Evans misses out again with a hamstring injury, whilst Ben Brown (broken finger), Matt Machan (wrist) and Ollie Robinson (shins) all remain sidelined. Will Beer comes into the squad to boost the spin-bowling options.

The Sussex squad is as follows:

Jofra Archer
Will Beer
Danny Briggs
Michael Burgess (wkt)
Harry Finch
Chris Jordan
Steve Magoffin
Chris Nash
Delray Rawlins
Vernon Philander
Stiaan van Zyl
Luke Wells
David Wiese
Luke Wright (c)
