PREVIEW: Sussex head to Lord's for Middlesex clash

Sussex return to LV=County Championship cricket tomorrow when they take on Middlesex at Lord’s (11.00am start).

It will be Sussex’s first four-day action since the Horsham Festival last month and will be aiming to pull clear of the bottom places of the Division One table against a Middlesex side who lie fourth in the standings.

The last time Sussex played a Championship match at Lord’s, Luke Wright (pictured) hit a big century in the second innings and this season, he has struck more fours (134) than any other player in Division One, amongst his 897 runs so far.

Sussex can welcome back Chris Nash and Ollie Robinson to the squad after they missed Wednesday’s Royal London One-Day Cup match with achilles and hamstring problems respectively, whilst Ashar Zaidi is also included following injury.

Jimmy Anyon, Chris Jordan, Lewis Hatchett, Tymal Mills and Ajmal Shahzad remain unavailable through injury, so Chris Liddle boosts the seam bowling options.

The Sussex squad is as follows:

BC Brown (wkt)
EC Joyce (c)
ME Hobden
CJ Liddle
MW Machan
SJ Magoffin
CD Nash
OE Robinson
LWP Wells
LJ Wright
MH Yardy
SAA Zaidi
