PREVIEW: Sussex prepare for crucial Royal London One-Day Cup clash with Hampshire

Sussex Sharks are preparing for their crucial final Royal London One-Day Cup South Group match tomorrow, when they face South Coast rivals Hampshire at the Ageas Bowl (1.30pm start).

The top three teams in the South Group table go through to the knockout stages of the tournament, and Sussex need to beat Hampshire, and hope that Surrey are defeated by Gloucestershire, in order to qualify for the play-off stages by finishing in third place.

The Sharks were denied the chance to secure their passage to the next round by Gloucestershire on Sunday at The Saffrons, Eastbourne. Skipper Luke Wright hit 84 and Laurie Evans 48 as the Sharks made 240, but despite two wickets apiece from Jofra Archer and Will Beer, the visitors were victorious by six wickets.

Both Wright and Evans left the field during the Gloucestershire innings with injuries but the pair have been passed fit to be included in the squad for tomorrow’s clash, which is being televised live on Sky Sports. Phil Salt and Delray Rawlins also come into the squad to boost the options for Sussex.

The Sussex squad is as follows:

Jofra Archer
Will Beer
Danny Briggs
Michael Burgess (wkt)
Laurie Evans
Harry Finch
George Garton
Chris Nash
Delray Rawlins
Phil Salt
Jerome Taylor
Stiaan van Zyl
David Wiese
Luke Wright (c)
