PREVIEW: Sussex return to LV=County Championship action at Scarborough

Jon Lewis returns to the Sussex squad to boost the bowling options against Yorkshire

Sussex return to LV=County Championship action tomorrow when they travel to Scarborough to take on Division One leaders Yorkshire (11.00am start).

It will be the first time in nearly a month that Sussex have tasted Championship action, with their last outing the impressive 226 run victory over Warwickshire at Horsham, which completed a ‘double’ over the Midland county this season.

Sussex are currently in the mid-table section of the Division One table but lie only 28 points off the summit with four games remaining of the campaign. The first meeting between the two teams earlier this season finished as a draw at Arundel Castle.

Team news sees Matthew Hobden and Jon Lewis return to boost the bowling options as Chris Jordan is away with the England squad for their final Test Match against India. James Tredwell continues his loan spell from Kent which allows him to play four-day cricket only for Sussex.

Matt Machan is captaining the Scotland side for two 50-over matches this week against New Zealand A so Callum Jackson also comes into the squad. James Anyon, Rory Hamilton-Brown, Matt Prior and Michael Yardy all remain sidelined through injury.

The Sussex squad is as follows.

BC Brown
C Cachopa
LJ Hatchett
ME Hobden
CF Jackson
EC Joyce (capt)
J Lewis
SJ Magoffin
CD Nash
SA Piolet
JC Tredwell
LWP Wells
LJ Wright
