PREVIEW: Sussex welcome south-coast rivals Hampshire in the LV= County Championship

Sussex begin a busy run of home fixtures on Sunday when they welcome south-coast neighbours Hampshire to The County Ground in the LV=County Championship (11.00am start).

The two sides met in the opening fixture of the 2015 Division One campaign, with Sussex emerging victorious at the Ageas Bowl. Sussex are in a mid-table position in the standings, 19 points off top spot which is currently occupied by Middlesex. Hampshire are rooted to the bottom of the table, having yet to win since their return to the top-flight, although they have managed four draws so far.

It will be the first time the two teams have met at Hove in the Championship since 2011, when Sussex were the victors by five wickets.

Sussex can welcome back skipper Ed Joyce for this match, following his double-century for Ireland in their ICC Intercontinental Cup match with the UAE in Malahide. His 231 was not only his first-class best but also the highest score from an Irishman. Sussex also welcome back Ashar Zaidi to the squad, having recovered from injury. Chris Jordan though will be missing, as he is on England duty for the Royal London ODI Series against New Zealand. Jimmy Anyon, Lewis Hatchett, Matt Prior and Ajmal Shahzad all remain sidelined through injury.
The Sussex squad is as follows:

WAT Beer
BC Brown (wkt)
C Cachopa
HZ Finch
ME Hobden
EC Joyce (capt)
CJ Liddle
MW Machan
SJ Magoffin
CD Nash
OE Robinson
SA Piolet
LWP Wells
LJ Wright
MH Yardy
SAA Zaidi
